12908 CALIFORNIA HEAR I COME!
1508 HAPPY NEW YEAR!
111707 HI. |
I JUST GOT BACK FROM A WEEK IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND THE NAMM SHOW It is always a treat to visit family, friends, the beach and warm weather in January. NAMM was amazing. I was there courtesy of Spaun Drum Company, the finest drums made. Spending time with them at NAMM reminded me of why I love these drums so much. Thank you Brian Spaun and Dave Pimental. I also met alot of other great people.Jeff and Kathleen Kelly of Kelly Shu mic mounting systems and John Stannard of Hammerax are two new companies I'm proud to be working with. The folks at Modern Drummer magazine were great to meet as was Jonathan Mover with Drumhead magazine. Find out more about these great people and products on my links page.
I also had the pleasure of meeting Billy Ward. Billy is a great drummer and educator. He has been a big influence on my approach to drumming. I had a great time hanging out with him. Every drummer should check out his cd's and dvd's. I met alot of other folks too numerous to name. But, they all made NAMM a memorable experience.
Well.....back to the snow!
WHAT GREAT COUPLE OF MONTHS! The Ashworth CD release party was a really special night. Our opening performers, Ric Hordinski and Wolfy, gave fantastic performances. We felt embraced by them as well as the audience. In December, I performed in a Christmas production called, "Imagine Christmas", at Vineyard Community Church in Greenwood, IN. It was the coolest one of it's kind that I've ever done. My wife, Kathryn, was the music director. She did an amazing job of pulling all of the musicians and singers together to make it happen. Combined with the staging, dance and other media, it made for several powerful performances.
Siochain brought in the new year at the Claddagh Irish Pub in downtown Indianapolis. 2007 saw us do approximently 115 shows throughout the midwest. Our 2008 schedule looks to be just as busy. We will also release our second album this year. I'll keep you posted.
WELCOME TO MY SITE. IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME COMING. Look around. You'll find the latest of what I'm up to, where I'm playing next and who I'm recording with. Listen to music on the player while exploring any page you want. You can check out a few video clips and photos. I also have CDs for sale! I will add photos, video, CDs and free downloads as time goes on. I hope you enjoy your time here. Thanks for stopping by.
I've been busy lately. Where to begin...SIOCHAIN has maintained a very steady schedule this year. We've played many Irish pubs and festivals throughout the midwest to very receptive audiences. We will have done over 100 shows by years end. We even won the People's Choice Award at the Indy Irish Fest this year. There were many excellent groups there that weekend, so we're really honored by this recognition. We are also working on our second album. We will probably release this next spring. I may post some "in progress" video or audio. So, check back.
ASHWORTH has been busier the last few months as we gear up for the release of our second album, Downtown. We will be having a CD release party on November 17,2007 at RadioRadio. Wolfy and Ric Hordinski will open the show for us. This will be a special night. The room is the coolest one in Indy. Wolfy and Ric are stellar perfomers. So, we'll be looking for ya!
CA3, my experimental project with Jeff DeHerdt has done a few shows around town the last few months. The best of which was Oranje 2007! Man, what an event that was! Artist and bands of all kinds generated about 6 hours of sensory overload. It was great to hang out and watch and play with so many people.
I am also scoring music for a film series for a Sunday school program called "KIDZ CAN". It's still very much in the development stages. I'm having a lot of fun with this. Quite different from hitting things!
